Spend a magical evening at Twilight in the Gardens!

Bring a blanket, snacks, and drinks to picnic in our space and enjoy a lively performance by psychedelic punk band The Strain in our courtyard. Over at our craft tables dive into the captivating world of textures and patterns with Teaching Artist Jean Wong. This hands-on activity combines tile rubbings with the intricate craft of origami, creating a unique blend of visual and tactile artistry. Perfect for art enthusiasts of all skill levels, this workshop offers a creative exploration of texture, pattern, and form.

Visitors also have the chance to learn more about PMG through fun, casual self-guided tours of our mosaicked basement, and can check out “Threads of Transformation: Works by Krista Dedrick-Lai and Margaux McAllister” in our galleries.

Space is limited so get your tickets while you can!

ABOUT THE MUSICIAN:

The seed that would grow into The Strain was planted during pandemic year 2020. To combat the isolation, cellist Alan Kolc and guitarist Mule began informally jamming at Alan’s studio. Over the next year or so, as the world started to reopen, bass player Todd Glider, guitar player Matt Conner, and drummer Justin Tyner joined in. Playing all original numbers, The Strain combines a variety of styles into a one-of-a-kind psychedelic punk sound.

ABOUT THE TEACHING ARTIST:

Jean Wong (she/her) is an artist and educator based in Lansdowne, PA. Trained in various media, including oil and watercolor painting, Jean is most informed by her study of Chinese landscape painting – which centers meditative observation and gestural line work. By incorporating natural and recycled pigments into her work, Jean hopes to better depict the spirit and movement of nature and architecture.

Jean’s artworks have been shown domestically and internationally at venues including Philadelphia City Hall; Vox Populi, PA; Seagery; The Singapore Art Book Fair; The Workhouse Arts Center, VA; and Ace House Collective, Indonesia. She is a 2023 Leeway Foundation Art & Change Grantee.
