Event Description
This month, our crafting program is inspired by the Free Library’s “One Book One Philadelphia” selection: The Artivist, written and illustrated by Nikkolas Smith. In this picture book, a young artist uses his talent to fight for a better world by creating murals, protest signs, and street art interventions. You are invited to turn a pin-back button into wearable artwork that expresses support for something you love.
Join us for free tours of the fully mosaicked basement at 12:30, 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30 pm. We will learn how Isaiah Zagar, creator of Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens, uses artwork to talk about the world. Basement tours will include readings of The Artivist at 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
PECO Family Jams are PMG’s family-oriented programs held on the second Sunday of every month between noon and 4:00 p.m. Crafts and basement tours are included with regular admission to PMG. Purchase your regular admission tickets in advance.
